Protein folding diseases targets
	AB Vector provides recombinant baculovirus stocks for the expression of several proteins which are misfolded and accumulate in protein folding diseases.
	Tau is a neuronal microtubule-associated protein which is a key component of neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease (Marx et al., Science, 2007, 316: 1416-7). Filamentous tau deposits in neurons or glial cells are also characteristic for Pick's disease, corticobasal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy (Hasegawa, Neuropathology, 2006, 26:484-90). AB Vector offers major Tau isoforms found in brain as well as some mutant forms (Goedert et al., Neuron, 3: 519-526, 1989). All isoforms are expressed to a high level (See Fig. 1 for details) and induce formation of characteristic axon-like cell processes (Knops et al., J Cell Biol, 114: 725-733,1991).
	Alpha-synuclein is a major component of proteinaceous aggregates associated with Parkinson's disease and other synucleopathies, such as Lewy body dementia, Lewy body variant of Alzheimer's disease, and multiple system atrophy (Beyer, Acta Neuropathol, 2006, 112:237-51).
	SOD1 (Cu, Zn-superoxide dismutase) misfolding is causative to amyotropic lateral sclerosis (Rakhit and Chakrabartty, Biochim Biophys Acta, 2006, 1762: 1025-37).
	Alpha-synuclein and SOD1 are detectable as distinct bands on gels stained with Coomassie blue and are available in-fusion with GFP or expressed individually (See Fig. 2 for details).
